BJP star campaigner and NEDA Convener Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma today made a direct attack on its  National People’s Party stating that it will not be a part of the next government in Manipur.

NPP which was is part of the N. Biren Singh-led BJP government has decided to go solo for the upcoming assembly elections.

Attending the flag hoisting ceremony for BJP candidate M Prithviraj Singh in Moirang, CM Sarma urged people not to vote for the NPP as the party has no value and had to depend on the BJP for ministerial berths in the last government.

Sarma added that the NPP is not in power in Centre and would have to approach PM Modi for any assistance. The strong attack on NPP comes at a time when the Conrad Sangma led party has been boasting of emerging as the single largest in Manipur.

The National People’s Party has decided to field more than 40 candidates in the Manipur Assembly Elections.

In fact war of words between the BJP and NPP has escalated in the last few days over pre poll violence in the state. NPP is alleging that its rivals are taking help of outlawed outfits to deter its candidates.
