Senior NPF leader Imkong L. Imchen addressing the Nagaland Assembly has proposed invoking Presidents Rule in Nagaland to conduct speedy negotiation on the vexed Naga Political Issue and to bring about a negotiated settlement at the earliest.

Addressing the House, NPF leader Imkong stated after the formation of the oppositionless Government and the constitution of the Core Committee on the Naga issue, the committee has not been able to discuss the core issues by providing quality time to the members.

He added if the continuance of the election system in the state is making any negative hindrance on the ongoing Naga political negotiation, then Art 356 of the constitution of India should be invoked after the completion of the present tenure in 2023 so as to eliminate any negative hindrance coming from the elected representatives.

Imchen added let there not be any elected representatives in the scene of the Naga political talk but only the Negotiating parties and the Government of India. The NPF leader further stated Nagas can no longer bear the burden of massive extortions, intimidation, and threats inflicted on the people in the name of fighting for freedom.
