Nagaland Minister Temjen Imna Along Emphasises Need for Naga Political Settlement

The minister highlighted 2024 as a year of significant progress and achievements under the leadership of Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio.
As another year draws to a close, Nagaland Tourism Minister Temjen Imna Along has called for a swift resolution of the Naga political issue that has been hanging in balance for 27 years now, emphasising its critical importance for the people of the state. Speaking to Northeast Live, the minister highlighted 2024 as a year of significant progress and achievements under the leadership of Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio.
“This year is truly momentous for Nagaland,” Minister Imna Along remarked. “The government has made great strides forward, addressing political challenges like the Eastern Nagaland People’s Organization (ENPO) issue in a progressive manner. We are also committed to development and empowering the people of Nagaland.”
Mentioning the ongoing Naga political settlement efforts, Minister Along underscored the role of the state government and civil society. “The Political Affairs Committee has been a prudent facilitator. We look forward to a cohesive settlement through the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio.”
Reflecting on the recently concluded 25th edition of the Hornbill Festival, the minister expressed his gratitude to the people of Nagaland. “The successful completion of this milestone festival shows the unity and resilience of our people. I thank everyone for keeping the state peaceful and upholding God’s blessings.”
He further commended the collaboration between the state government and its alliance partners, stating, “The chief minister and our alliance partners are working very well for the overall development of Nagaland. Together, we will usher in a brighter future for the state.”
