The affected road connects Nsong town, Nchan village, Ngam village, Lalong village, and Nazauna village of Nagaland’s Peren district.

Lalong Student Union and Nzauna Student Union along with the concerned village councils under Tening Constituency of Nagaland’s Peren district have taken the initiative to clear the road voluntarily which has been disrupted for the past few months due to massive landslides.

They have also been making videos of their road clearing work so that the concerned authorities would take notice and provide immediate relief to the area including help to the villagers to ply light vehicles in case of emergency.

As per reports, today is the 4th day since they have been working to restore the road.

Road connectivity between Lalong and Nzauna villages has been disrupted for the past few months due to massive landslides which occurred during the months of March and April.

The affected road connects Nsong town, Nchan village, Ngam village, Lalong village, and Nazauna village of Nagaland’s Peren district.

It needs to be mentioned here, Nzauna village is the last village in the Peren district bordering Manipur and it takes about 9 to 10 hours to reach the last village of Peren town.

Meanwhile, the villagers had approached the concerned authorities for assistance but were directed to approach the concerned MLA and departments, leaving them with no hope.

In addition, the villagers have also been facing difficulties in receiving relief food supplies and Angawadi supplies as people carrying the rations have to walk about 5 to 6kms to reach the villages.
