The MUTA added that its president Tomba Singh had merely gone to the state congress office to ascertain if the letter was genuine giving rise to speculations that he had joined the Congress.

Talking to Northeast Live MUTA spokesperson Prof Nimai Singh said that the MUTA believed in keeping equal distance from both the BJP and the Congress.
