The Manipur University Students’ Union or MUSU has withdrawn its earlier decision to shut down the Manipur University from December 15 onwards to demand for appointment of a Vice-Chancellor.

Since then, retired IAS Jarnail Singh took charge of administration however he too was relieved from his post on November 30 by an order from the Manipur High Court.

Furthermore, the MUSU had earlier also staged sit-in demonstrations in this regard inside the university campus on the 3rd and 5th of December.
