Mizoram’s Chillis, Ginger and Passion Fruits Now at Jio World Drive, Mumbai and other Reliance Outlets

Another development that is expected to give a further boost to the state’s farm sector is the setting up of the Reliance outlet in Aizawl that is in the works.

In a big push to the farmers of Mizoram, the Mizoram State Rural Livelihood Mission signed an MoU with Reliance Retail. Under the MoU 5 fruits and vegetables from Mizoram will be sold at Reliance retail outlets. These fresh produce will also be available at the Reliance Freshpik outlet at Jio World Drive, Mumbai.

Initially only ginger, chili, and passion fruit will be available. Dragon fruit and pineapple will soon be added to the product offerings later.

Another development that is expected to give a further boost to the state’s farm sector is the setting up of the Reliance outlet in Aizawl that is in the works.

This move is also part of a broader initiative to support rural women entrepreneurs. In December 2024, the Mizoram State Rural Livelihood Mission partnered with Reliance Fresh to procure fresh ginger and chili from women-led Self-Help Groups (SHGs) in the state. The announcement was made by Prof. Lalnilawma, Minister for Rural Development, during the inauguration of the 10th Regional SARAS Fair, which took place from 10-16 December 2024 in Aizawl.
