On the occasion of former Prime Minister late Rajiv Gandhi’s death anniversary, the Chief Minister of Mizoram, Lal Thanhawla inaugurated the Rajiv Gandhi Study Circle at Aizawl on Monday.

Addressing the gathering at the inaugural function that was held at the Aijal Club, the chief minister highlighted the ideals and visions of the late Prime Minister.

Chief Minister Lal Thanhawla further went on to quote the speech that the former Prime Minister had made during his 1987 visit to Mizoram.

The Chief Minister echoing Gandhi’s words reminded the people of Mizoram not to trade their core values for mere economic and material gains.

The Rajiv Gandhi Study Circle is an NGO that was founded in the year 2005 with the view to inspire and nurture the student-youth community and also to sensitize them towards the tradition of nation-building.
