Education minister of Manipur, Th Radheshyam became the first elected representative from the state to have received the honorary title of ‘Doctorate’ from the European University of Brčko District in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
He was awarded the Doctorate Degree by Professor Nadeljko Stankovic at Belgrade in Serbia on December 6.
Dr Radheshyam was felicitated in Manipur by the official department of Education yesterday at MFDC to have added another feather in his cap in the academic field and earn a doctorate degree.
The 55 year old Minister was an IPS officer before his voluntary retirement from the service in 2016. Radheshyam was also a recipient of Presidential Police Medal for Gallantry and Meritorious Service in his 25 years of service.
It may be mentioned that Dr Radheshyam had served as the Regional Chief of Human Rights with the United Nations in the year 2001 to 2012 at Bosnia and Herzegovina before being elected as a member of the BJP legislature.
