Assam: Kamrup DC issues new timing for schools due to rise in temperature

Amid the increase in temperature in Assam, the Kamrup district commissioner has instructed all the schools in the Kamrup metro district to reschedule the timing for both government-provincialized and private schools starting at 7.30 a.m. tomorrow.
“As per the instruction received from district commissioner, Kamrup metro district in the interest of public wellbeing the normal school timing is again rescheduled due to continuous rise of Mercury level and prevailing scorching heat for both Government Provincialized and private schools under Kamrup metro district w.e.f Thursday, 3rd August 2023,” the order issued by the Kamrup district commissioner read.
The order also instructed all the schools to conduct the morning assembly inside the classroom or shaded area taking note of the student’s health.
The timing of the school will be as follows:
L.P Schools: 7.30 AM TO 12 NOON
M.E. Schools: 7.30 AM TO 12.30 PM
H.S./HS Schools: 7.30 AM TO 1.00 PM
The order will remain in effect until August 15.
On Wednesday at 3 p.m, Guwahati recorded 32.8 degrees, Silchar 33.6 degrees, Golaghat 30 degrees, Jorhat 37 degrees, and North Lakhimpur 35.8 degrees.
