Ranju Singh, wife of detained army personnel Dharamvir Singh, who has been allegedly detained by some army personnel, has filed a complaint with the police in Imphal. Singh, who is a lieutenant colonel, is the officer commanding M-sector Imphal.
Singh had reportedly been taken away by a team, of ten army jawans led by Lieutenant Colonel Nanda and Major Rathode and one JCO, at gunpoint on July 1.
Singh’s wife Ranju has filed the police complaint against the two army personnel for the kidnapping and wrongful confinement of her husband. The officers were charged with under section 346/365/363/120-B IPC and 27 Arms act for wrongful confinement, kidnapping and kept concealing with criminal conspiracy by using arms.
Initially, Ranju and her two daughters were restrained from moving out of their house, but later sought permission to go out. Reportedly, her husband had called her up on Tuesday morning informing that he was at Corps Military Police surrounded by guards and hung up the phone.
According to police, authority from the M-sector post reported to the police that Dharamvir was not arrested but currently at CSIU Dimapur unit.
