Guwahati Murder case: Police arrest 5 persons, including self-proclaimed wife, her father

As the investigation into the murder of Anjan Nath continues, at least five persons including the self-proclaimed wife of the deceased, Gitashree Sinha, along with her father, Arijit Sinha arrested for their alleged involvement in the murder of the youth.
The arrests occurred on Sunday night, and all three are suspected to have played a main role in the murder of the youth Anjan Nath.
Gitashree and her father were apprehended shortly after the arrest of three individuals who had opened fire on the victim.
The arrested individuals were identified as Sourabh Goenka, Govinda Kumar and Arvinda Roy.
It is learned that the wife of deceased, Gitashree and Sourabh, a dry fruits businessman in the Fancy Bazar area had an illicit relationship.
Gitashree’s parents did not approve of the match with Anjan Nath owing to financial and alcohol issues, they decided to get their daughter married to Sourabh.
Following which, a plan was carried out by Sourabh, with assistance from Govinda Kumar and Arvinda Roy.
Meanwhile, the police seized the bike that was used by the accused persons while shooting the youth.
Further reports claim that the pistol used in the murder was brought from Bihar.
On October 13, the unfortunate incident took place when Anjan Nath was shot at point-blank by unidentified bike-borne miscreants near Metro Hospital located in the city’s Khanapara locality.
He was rushed to Metro Hospital in Khanapara with gunshot wounds to his chest; however, he was declared dead upon arrival.
