Students of an Assam school faint due to scorching heat

Several students of the Uttar Gobardhan High School in Baksa’s Salbari area fainted on Tuesday and Wednesday due to the sweltering heat
Several students of Uttar Gobardhan High School in Baksa’s Salbari area fainted due to the scorching heat. The students were rushed to the hospital.
Following the incident, the All Bodoland Minority Students’ Union (ABMSU) expressed concern and said that the district administration and the education department have not taken any steps to take care of the students amid the rising temperature across the state.
Few students of the school fainted yesterday too.
ABMSU said that the school lacks proper infrastructure for the students. It does not even have proper electricity connections.
Mercury has been soaring in Assam over the past few days. Temperatures have been recorded at least 5 degrees above normal in different parts of the state.
