Guwahati woke up to another brutal murder today, similar to the murder case of Purbi Dairy Distributor Ranjit Bora.

A 27-year-old man was allegedly shot dead by some unidentified bike-borne miscreants near Metro Hospital located in the city’s Khanapara locality.

The deceased person has been identified as Anjan Nath, a resident of Latakata in Guwahati.

The incident took place last night, when Nath was waiting there to pick his wife when some unidentified bike-borne assailants approached, shot him and fled the scene.

On receiving information about the incident, Guwahati Police rushed to the scene and sent an injured man to a nearby hospital for treatment, however, he succumbed to his bullet injury at the hospital, said Assam DGP GP Singh.

GP Singh said that the investigation into the matter is on, and further details will be made public after a thorough investigation.

The State DGP said that he is confident that the Police will soon nab the culprit and he will be punished as per law.
