First batch of Haj pilgrims from Assam reaches Jeddah

There are a total of nearly 6,302 Haj pilgrims this time from Assam, Meghalaya and Nagaland including 4281 males and 2021 females

The first batch of Haj pilgrims from Assam have reached Jeddah via Mumbai from Guwahati. A section of people has already performed the Umrah Hajj before the actual Haj pilgrimage sometime from now.

The Hajis were given a cordial send-off at the Indira Gandhi International Airport, New Delhi. Some of the pious Muslims including Assam Haj Committee President and eminent Assam lawyer, Nekibur Zaman were seen on a wheelchair taking the pilgrimage to Mecca.

There are a total of nearly 6,302 Haj pilgrims this time from Assam, Meghalaya and Nagaland including 4281 males and 2021 females, as per the figures shared by the Joint State Haj Committee.

There are at least 93 pilgrims from Meghalaya, 20 from Nagaland, and 6,189 from Assam.
