The final electoral roll of Mizoram has been published ahead of the upcoming Assembly elections.

According to the official document, a total of 7 lakh 68 thousand 1 hundred 81 people are eligible to cast vote this year. Significantly, female voters are expected to outnumber male voters in the state.

There are 3 lakh 93 thousand 6 hundred 85 females who’ve made it to the electoral roll whereas number of male voters is recorded at 3 lakh 74 thousand 4 hundred 96.

State capital Aizawl has maximum people making it to the roll and least number of voters is in Siaha district.

Mizoram Chief Electoral officer Shashank while releasing the electoral roll informed that house to house verification of booth level was done in the state before final publication.

He also added that preparations are at final stage at all the polling booth and stations. EVMs have already arrived in the state and are stored in secured rooms in each District capital.

Shashank also mentioned that ECI had taken a decision that Brus would not be allowed to franchise their votes outside of Mizoram.

Bru registration was finished but number of Bru voters is not made publicised. Election Commission of India is yet to announce the election date.
