Fake news alert: Notification claiming Assam HS results to be declared tomorrow is fake

A fake notification is being circulated on social media which claims that the results for the Assam Higher Secondary final examination (Class 12) 2024 for Arts, Science and Commerce stream will be declared tomorrow.

However, there is no notification issued on the official website of the Assam Higher Secondary Education Council (AHSEC) regarding the announcement of the date and time of the Higher Secondary result, neither Education Minister Ranoj Pegu made any announcement till now.
Earlier last week, Education Minister Ranoj Pegu said that the AHSEC will declare the results for the Higher Secondary final examination in the first week of May and the council will issue an advance notice regarding this.
” We (AHSEC) will declare the result in the first week of May itself. At most, it might be delayed until May 5. We will notify you beforehand,” he added.
AHSEC sources verified that this is not an official notification by the Council, reported the Truth.
The examinations were held from February 12 to March 13, 2024.
As many as 2,80,216 students appeared for the examination in 876 centers across the state.
Last year, the pass percentage in Arts stream was 70.12% down from 83.48% in 2022.
In the Commerce stream the pass percentage was 79.57% compared to 87.26% in 2022 and in the Science stream, the pass percentage was 84.96% compared to a high of 92.19% in 2022.
