Evac Plan ready to evacuate Arunachal students from Manipur: Minister Bamang Felix

Students would be airlifted as soon as the situation improves a little and police are in a position to escort them to Imphal airport

Arunachal Pradesh Home Minister, Bamang Felix, announced today that an evacuation plan has been prepared to bring home students from Arunachal Pradesh who are currently residing in strife-torn Manipur.

The plan involves using helicopters and aircrafts to transport the students to safety, and the necessary arrangements have already been put in place. The operation will be carried out once the situation becomes favourable, and the stranded students will be escorted by the Manipur police to the Imphal airport.

Addressing the media in Itanagar today, Bamag Felix urged the parents not to panic. He requested that they keep their children in a safe zone. Furthermore, he appealed to those residing in camps to remain there until the situation calms down and not venture out.

Felix also provided helpline numbers — ADGPI: 8471889572, DRC GHY: 7086026788, ADDL SP: 7630090058 and requested individuals to seek assistance by contacting them.

The government of Arunachal Pradesh is closely monitoring the situation in Manipur, the home minister said.
