The Congress and the AIUDF have announced veteran journalist Ajit Kumar Bhuyan as their common candidate for the upcoming Rajya Sabha elections.

Both parties made the announcement at a joint press conference in New Delhi.

The announcement was made by Assam Congress chief Ripun Bora, Leader of Opposition Debabrata Saikia and AIUDF leader Hafeez Rashid.
