The Congress today released it’s manifesto for poll bound Meghalaya.
Former Union minister Jairam Ramesh released the manifesto which includes a slew of promises including better health care facilities, free education for every girl child, minimum support price (MSP) for farmers, free power for BPL families, free LPG supply for BPL families, one job every household, pension for journalists besides others.
The Congress has also promised to revive the mining sector and ensure collection of revenue through transparent methods. Mining policy will be formulated as per the norms laid by the Supreme Court, the Congress manifesto added.
The Congress has also assured of resolving the border dispute between Assam and Meghalaya. The manifesto said,”We will strive to arrive at a mutually acceptable solution to resolve the problems pertaining to areas of difference along Assam-Meghalaya border without compromising on the dignity and integrity of our territorial boundaries.”
Releasing the manifesto, Jairam Ramesh alleged that cultural and independent identity of Meghalaya was under threat from BJP.
