Assam CM called on people across the country to take note of the Congress's act and give them a befitting reply in next year's Lok Sabha elections

Chief Ministers of Assam, Arunachal Pradesh and Manipur have slammed the opposition Congress for allegedly cuttung off the Northeastern region from the map of India shown in a parody video shared by the party on social media.

Arunachal Chief Minister Pema Khandu said that Congress first ruined and brutalised Northeast and now it is planning to scrub the region off India’s map.

However, the people of Northeast would never let that happen and that the Congress will never succeed in its nefarious design.

“The #NorthEast will never forgive @INCIndia for first ruining and brutalizing it. Now the grand rejected party wants to cut off the North East from India, which we and our people won’t let happen. The Congress will never succeed in its nefarious design,” CM Khandu wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter.

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma came down heavily on the Congress accusing them of demonstrating their indifference and apathy towards the Northeast and its people while mocking Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the video.

Responding to the video, CM Sarma alleged that it seemed from the clip that the Congress has already secretly struck a deal to sell the entire land of Northeast to a “foreign country’.

CM Sarma questioned whether whether Rahul Gandhi’s recent trip overseas was related to this or if the party had accepted Sharjeel Imam, a student activist who was detained under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act for allegedly plotting the Delhi 2020 riots.

CM Sarma posted a screenshot of the Congress’s post on X and wrote, “Seems the Congress party has secretly struck a deal to sell the entire land of North East to some neighbouring country. Is this why Rahul went abroad? Or has the party given membership to Sharjeel Imam?.”

Speaking to ANI , Chief Minister Sarma called on people across the country to take note of the Congress’s act and give them a befitting reply in next year’s Lok Sabha elections.

“I saw that tweet. It felt like the Congress has given away our beloved Northeast region to China. They put out an India map from which the entire Northeast region had been cut off. This is a deliberate anti-national act. The people of the Northeast and across the country should take note of this and give them a befitting reply (in the Lok Sabha elections next year),” the Assam CM told ANI.

Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh said, North East India never existed for the Congress party. This picture actually depicts the Congress party’s outlook and plan for this region. It either wants the entire area to be cut off or completely destroyed.”

The controversial post by Congress was, in a way a parody of an iconic scene from the Bollywood movie “Deewar.”

The scene featured Amitabh Bachchan and Shashi Kapoor in an argument, when Shashi Kapoor said, “Mere paas maa hai” (Mother is with me).

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is portrayed as Amitabh Bachchan in an animated version of the scene from “Deewar,” and Rahul Gandhi is portrayed as Shashi Kapoor.

PM Modi was heard saying in the video, “I have ED, police, power, money, and friends. What do you have?”

Rahul Gandhi responds by saying, “The entire country is with me.”
