Centre has extended the term of R N Ravi as the chief interlocutor of Naga peace talks. The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved his extension until further order.

The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved his extension until further order.
Ravi was appointed as chairman of the Joint Intelligence Committee which works under the National Security Council Secretariat in September 2014, months after the NDA came to power.
In 2015, Ravi had signed the framework agreement on behalf of the Union government with the National Socialist Council of Nagaland (Isak-Muivah) to bring to an end the decades-old Naga insurgency problem.
