Police recovered stolen items, including LED TVs, gold bracelets, smartphones, keypad phones, heavy-duty water pumps, copper wire.

In a major crackdown on crime, Cachar police arrested 21 habitual offenders in a 24-hour special operation in Silchar. Led by three special teams, the operation covered areas like Rangirkhari, Rangpur, Malugram, Ghungoor, and National Highway Point.

Among the arrested individuals was a juvenile, all linked to multiple theft and burglary cases. Police recovered stolen items, including LED TVs, gold bracelets, smartphones, keypad phones, heavy-duty water pumps, copper wire, pipes, and an E-rickshaw.

Superintendent of Police Numal Mahatta stated that the operation aimed to curb the increasing theft incidents in the region. The arrested individuals will be investigated further after being presented in court.

Authorities suspect an organised crime network, as evidence suggests the thieves conducted group meetings to divide target areas. The police continue their investigation to dismantle any larger criminal syndicates operating in the city.
