Bus accident in Ukhrul, Manipur; 13 students injured

The bus was carrying students of Pettigrew College, Ukhrul. Of the 13 injured, 8 are girl students and 5 male students

Thirteen students were injured in a bus accident in Ukhrul, Manipur. The bus was ferrying students of Pettigrew College, Ukhrul. The accident took place at Khararphung in Ukhrul at around 10:20 am this morning.
According to Ukhrul Police, the accident happened due to brake failure.
The 13 injured students have been identified as:

  1. Songachon Phinao daughter of Kanrei Phinao of Roni Village
  2. Themyo Kapai daughter of Lawthing Kapai of Khaivaren Tang
  3. Ukhrul, Shimreithing RS son of Chipemmi RS of Wino Bazaar
  4. Ukhrul, Leiyami Zingkhai daughter of Mathew Zingkhai of Hoomi Village
  5. Sothingpam Chalamva son of Somi Chalamva of Theiva village
  6. Themboy Muinao son of Thanmi Muinao of Ngainga village
  7. Shailam NG daughter of Shomi NG of Phalee Village
  8. Soshanla Mashangva daughter of Wungshungmi Mashangva of Choithar village
  9. Chuiyarin Ngashangva daughter of Shomi Ngashangva of Phalee Village
  10. Chihanmi Awungshi son of Ramkahao Awungshi of Marem village
  11. Leiyami Chamroy daughter of Raising Chamroy of Halang village
  12. Leiyawon Kapai daughter of Shimreichon Kapai of Ngainga village
  13. Mashun Mahongnao son of Rainao Mahingnao of Shingta

They are all students of Pettigrew College, Ukhrul. The injured are undergoing treatment at Leishiphung Christian Hospital. One student has been discharged, but the rest are still in the hospital.
The 35 Assam Rifles sent a recovery van to pull the bus that had overturned.
