The Tripura Government is set to be affiliated with three other oil companies that will lift gas and oil from the state by the Central Governement with an aim to boost the revenue income of the state.
Earlier, the Tripura Government led by Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb wrote a letter to Union Petroleum Minister Dharmendra Pradhan to set up other oil companies in Tripura.
The Oil and Natural Gas Corporation limited in Tripura is the only company that searches and lifts natural oil and gas. As a result 60 percent gas from Tripura has remained undiscovered.
Chief Minister Biplab Deb expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Petroleum Minister for affiliating the state with three more oil companies within nine months of formation of its new government.
