Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman is in Assam today to take part in various key programmes.

Currently, Sitharaman is in Umrangso in Dima Hasao district to take part in the bhumi pujan ceremony of the 120 Megawatt Lower Kopili hydro electric project and also lay the foundation stone for the improvement and upgradation of a 90-km two-lane highway at Haflong to be constructed under Asian Development Bank aided Assam Road Network Improvement Project.

The Finance minister will also undertake a site inspection of the Guwahati-North Guwahati bridge projects along with chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma.

Later in the day, she will launch a web portal under Assam Right to Public Service Act, 2012 at a function in Srimanta Sankardeva Kalakshetra.
