Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra Day 5: Rahul Gandhi’s Yatra enters Assam from Nagaland

Congress’ Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra on Thursday resumed the fifth day of its journey from Assam’s Sivasagar district.

As per inputs, Gandhi resumed his journey in a bus from Tuli in Nagaland in the early morning and reached Assam around 9:45 am today.

He was received by hundreds of party workers at Haluwating, where the national flag was handed over to Assam Congress leaders for the eight-day journey in the state.

In Assam, the yatra will cover a distance of around 833 kilometres, passing through 17 districts in 4 days.

The Assam phase of the Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra will begin today from Sivasagar district and the Assam Pradesh Congress Committee is fully prepared to make the yatra successful.

It may be mentioned here that Congress leader Rahul Gandhi will address two public rallies in Amguri in Sivasagar district and in Morioni in Jorhat.

Tomorrow, commencing the sixth day of the Yatra, Rahul Gandhi is slated to visit Majuli, where the team will be visiting the various Sattras.

Rahul Gandhi and his team will then move towards Dhemaji and spend the night at Gogamukh, ending day 6 of the yatra.

On January 20, the yatra will move towards Lakhimpur. In Lakhimpur, the Congress leader will take part in road shows in Lakhimpur’s Laluk, Harmoti and Naoboicha.

The yatra will also pass through Biswanath, Sonitpur, and Nagaon districts of Assam, where the senior Congress leader is scheduled to take part in different road shows.

Gandhi will visit Batadrava, the birth place of Srimanta Sankardeva.

The Yatra will also go to Meghalaya and Arunachal Pradesh. From Meghalaya the yatra will then move towards Assam on January 23. Rahul Gandhi is scheduled to take part in several road shows and public rallies in Kamrup Metropolitan and Kamrup Rural districts.

The yatra will then enter Nalbari district on the same day.

Before proceeding towards Barpeta district, Rahul Gandhi is scheduled to take part in a public rally in Nalbari.

After halting for the night in Nalbari, the yatra will then move towards Bongaigaon, North Salmara, and Dhubri districts the next day.
