Assam Rifles recovers drugs worth Rs 500 cr in Manipur’s Moreh

In one of the largest drug seizures in Manipur, contraband worth over Rs 500 crore was seized from Moreh town yesterday. The seized drugs include 54 kg of brown sugar and a whopping 154 kgs of Ice Meth.
The seizure was made during a joint operation conducted by a team of Assam Rifles & Manipur Police, based on reliable inputs.
As per ANI reports the contraband was recovered from the residence of a woman who is said to be married to a Chinese national. ANI has also reported that the woman is also suspected to be from Mandalay in Myanmar.
Speaking exclusively to Northeast Live, Tengnoupal SP Th Vikramjit Singh informed that they have received reports of drugs being packaged and distributed from some residences in the vicinity and upon receiving reliable inputs on the particular warehouse, the seizure was made.
The arrested person and the recovered items have been handed over to the Moreh Police Station. A case has been registered at the Moreh Police Station and an investigation on the matter is underway.
