An outpost of the Assam Rifles was attacked by insurgents in Manipur’s Chandel district in the wee hours of Thursday.
As per sources, suspected insurgents resorted to blank firing at the Kachibung Outpost in Chandel district. Assam Rifles troopers retaliated immediately forcing the insurgents to flee.
As per reports, the proscribed PLA claimed responsibility for the attack. It also claimed that the attack was jointly carried out with the Manipur Naga People Front another outfit. The outpost falls under Molcha police station.
