Even after the horrific incident of electrocution in Assam’s Juria, the electricity department continues with its lackadaisical attitude in its state of affairs.
A live wire from a transformer unit has been lying openly at the Golabil Chariali area in Sarupathar which has raised concerns among the local people.
The 11,000 volts wire has been tied to a wooden pole and now it hangs down precariously causing a dangerous situation waiting to claim its victim.
Even after a period of 42 years, the rotten wooden pole has not been changed by the electricity department even as the dangerous live wire precariously hangs from it.
Locals state that the transformer often faces short circuit and catches fire, due to which few portions of the wooden pole has been burnt.
Even in such a dangerous situation, the power department seems to be in a slumber of delusion.
