Preparations in full swing for polling in third phase of LS elections tomorrow

Altogether 14, 94,404 voters, including 7, 41,328 male and 743236 female will exercise their franchise in total 1862 polling stations. At least 296 polling stations were identified as critical.

The stage is all set for the third phase of voting for the Lok Sabha election in Kokrajhar, which will take place on Tuesday, May 7 from 7 am.

Polling parties, including presiding officers and polling officials have arrived at Basic Training Centres to collect their poll materials for their respective polling stations.

Altogether 14, 94,404 voters, including 7, 41,328 male and 743236 female will exercise their franchise in total 1862 polling stations. At least 296 polling stations were identified as critical.

Kokrajhar Deputy Commissioner and Returning Officer Pradeep Kumar Dwivedi said necessary arrangements have been made for smooth conduct of free and fair elections in five Assembly constituencies under Kokrajhar district -Gossaigaon Dotma, Kokrajhar, Baokhungri and Parbhatjhora.

Dwivedi said, “Preparation going on full swing. Today our material dispatch is going on. We are expecting that by the sunset all the polling personnel’s, polling team will reached their locations. And do the necessary arrangements for polling tomorrow. Security we have got 10 battalions of central armed police forces (CAPFs), 7 battalions of State Armed Police Forces (SAPF) and our district police also there. We have covered almost all the security norms that are mandated by the Election Commission of India (ECI).”

The high-stake election, which will be held amid thick security, will decide the fate of 12 candidates where the people will vote for good governance, peace and security.
