Assam: Cachar Panchayat Secretary arrested on charges of corruption

Amitabh Nath was serving as the secretary of Bhagabazar village panchayat in Cachar district
The Cachar Panchayat Secretary Amitabh Nath was arrested on charges of embezzling government money.
Nath has been accused of embezzling more than Rs 11 lakh government money.
Amitabh Nath was serving as the secretary of Bhagabazar village panchayat in Cachar district. He was arrested by Cachar Police based on a complaint by Ranjit Kumar Laskar, Chief Executive Officer of Cachar District Council.
As per inputs, Ranjit Kumar Laskar had received a complaint against Amitabh Nath, after which Laskar ordered an investigation.
In the investigation, the allegations leveled against Amitabh were proved correct, after which he was arrested.
