Arunachal Pradesh on Friday registered its highest single-day spike in COVID-19 cases as 32 more people tested positive for coronavirus, taking the total count to 135.
All fresh cases are returnees from other states and were placed under institutional quarantine. They are asymptomatic and have been admitted to COVID-19 care centres.
13 of the new patients are from state capital Itanagar while 10 are from worst-hit Changlang district, 8 from West Kameng and 1 from Lohit district.
The total number of active cases in the state now stands at 121, while 14 people have recovered recovered from the disease.
Meanwhile, 3 patients were discharged from a COVID-19 care centre in the state capital on Friday and have been advised home quarantine for 14 days.
The state reported its first COVID-19 case on April 2 after a 31-year-old man, who attended the congregation at Nizamuddin Markaz in Delhi, tested positive for coronavirus. The patient recovered and was discharged on April 16.
