Arunachal boxers shine with six medals in 5th Junior Boxing National Championship

Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein expressed his heartfelt appreciation for their remarkable achievements

Young boxers from Arunachal Pradesh brought home six medals from the 5th Junior Boxing National Championship. The championship, held at the Don Bosco College ground in Itanagar, was organised by the Arunachal Amateur Boxing Association (AABA) with the support of the Boxing Federation of India (BFI) and the Directorate of Sports, Government of Arunachal Pradesh.

Nenthok Hodong emerged as the star of the event, winning the gold medal in his category and receiving the prestigious Best Boxer award.
Other boxers who made the state proud include Tagio Liyak and Techi Jacky, who both secured silver medals along with Gaykie Rie who also claimed a silver medal, Loma Riang and Tarh Lonia both clinched bronze medals.

Dari Laknia and Ramesh Sharma were conferred with the prestigious Best Coaches Award.

Congratulating the medal-winning boxers and their coaches, Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein expressed his heartfelt appreciation for their remarkable achievements.

Taking to Twitter, DY CM Chowna Mein wrote, “The young and talented boxers of Arunachal Pradesh have brought home six medals in the 5th Junior Boxing National Championship! They have represented our State with grace, grit and determination and have made us all proud. Their success is not just a personal triumph, but a victory for the entire state of Arunachal Pradesh. I extend my heartiest congratulations to the young boxers as well as to Team Arunachal for making us proud by getting the Team Fair & Play Award. I would also like to congratulate the team coaches Shri Dari Laknia & Ramesh Sharma on being conferred with the Best Coaches Award. I wish them all the very best for their future endeavours and hope that they continue to bring glory to our state and our nation.”
