Arunachal: ANSU submits 10-point demands memorandum to CM Pema Khandu

Memorandum comprises ten pivotal demands, all designed to benefit the common people, strengthen the state's foundations
In a proactive move aimed at addressing pressing issues and spurring development in Arunachal Pradesh, the All Nyshi Students Union (ANSU) has submitted a comprehensive memorandum to Chief Minister Pema Khandu today. The memorandum comprises ten pivotal demands, all designed to benefit the common people, strengthen the state’s foundations, and promote growth and development, ANSU said.
The 10 key demands are as follows:
- Immediate repeal of the Arunachal Pradesh District Based Entrepreneur and Professional (Incentive Development and Promotion) Act, 2015
- Restriction on Non-Indigenous Contractors in Arunachal Pradesh Development Projects
The ANSU seeks restrictions on non-indigenous contractors in development projects under the Ministry of Road and Transport & Highway, NHIDCL, BRO, etc. They also propose an increase in bidding capacity for Class-1 contractors registered under the Government of Arunachal Pradesh, allowing them to participate in upcoming projects and consider joint venture bidding. - Revamping Government Schools through Public-Private Partnership (PPP) Model
To revitalize declining state-run schools, ANSU suggests composite reintegration through the PPP model. - Introduction of Moral Education Subject up to Class-VIII
The ANSU demands the compulsory inclusion of moral education as a subject up to the eighth standard in schools. - Involvement of Private and Public Companies in School Development
The ANSU advocates for the mandatory involvement of private and public companies in school development efforts. - Mechanism for Clean Elections
The memorandum urges the immediate establishment of a mechanism to ensure clean and fair elections in the state. - Suspension of Officials and Repeal of MOA/MOU
Immediate suspension of Lham Tashi, OSD to the Chief Minister, and reversion to the parent department, along with the suspension of Kirli Padu, SP, APPS, and Miss Moyir Basar Kamdak, APPS, for alleged conspiracy against the ANSU. - ANSU calls for the cancellation of MOA/MOU signed with the NHPC concerning Article 371H and USF.
- Opposition to Forest Conservation (Amendment) Act, 2023
The ANSU insists on the immediate adoption of a resolution to oppose the Forest Conservation (Amendment) Act, 2023. - Inclusion of Post-Graduate Courses in Government Colleges
The memorandum calls for the immediate inclusion of post-graduate courses under Dera Natung Government College, Itanagar, and Government College, Doimukh.
