Arunachal: 3 excavators seized from an illegal coal mine in Namdang

An FIR has been filed in this regard and an investigation is underway.
At least 3 excavators were seized from an illegal coal mine in Changlang’s Namdang by Arunachal Police on Sunday during a surprise raid conducted by the authorities.
Later, as the location was found to be under the jurisdiction of the Lekhapani forest range in Margherita sub division of eastern Assam’s Tinsukia district, the seized excavators were handed over to the authorities in Assam for further investigation and legal action.
It might be mentioned that there has been allegations of illegal coal mining in the area for quite some time now.
An FIR has been filed in this regard and an investigation is underway.
