10 police officers from NE conferred with HM’s Medal for Excellence

4 police officers from Assam and 1 each from Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, and Tripura have been conferred with the medal.
As many as 10 police officers from the Northeast have been conferred with the Union Home Minister’s Medal for Excellence in Investigation for 2022 for their high professional standards of investigation of crime, as per a statement of the Ministry of Home Affairs.
Out of these, 4 police officers from Assam and 1 each from Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, and Tripura have been conferred with the Union Home Minister’s Medal for their excellence in the investigation.
The four cops from Assam are SP Barun Purkayastha, SDPO Mrinmoy Das, Dy SP Rosy Talukdar and SI Narayan Saikia. SP Rohit Rajbir Singh from Arunachal Pradesh, Sub Inspector Marchang Wungmahai from Manipur, Dy SP Pyrkhatlang Suchiang from Meghalaya, Sub Inspector Lalbelthangi from Mizoram Additional SP Tulakha K Sumi from Nagaland, and Sub Inspector Emily Nandy from Tripura.
Among the awardees, 15 are from the Central Bureau of Investigation and five each from the Narcotics Control Bureau, and five from the National Investigation Agency.
Instituted in 2018, the medal aims at promoting high professional standards of investigation of crime and recognising such excellence in an investigation by investigating officers.
