Former Nagaland Minister YM Yollow Konyak passes away

The former minister died in a private hospital in New Delhi where he was undergoing treatment

Former Minister of Environment, Forests and Climate Change, the government of Nagaland, YM Yollow Konyak passed away in New Delhi today after prolonged illness. He was 53.

As per sources, he died in a private hospital in New Delhi where he was undergoing treatment.

He left behind his wife, two sons and two daughters.

The former Minister represented 42-Wakching Assembly constituency Under Mon district.

Nagaland Deputy Chief Minister Y Patton, Cabinet minister Jacob Zhimomi and other political leaders alongside his family members and well-wishers have condoled his demise and prayed for eternal peace for his departed soul.

YM Yollow Konyak was sworn in as the minister of Environment, Forest and Climate Change in United Democratic Alliance (UDA) coalition government last year following the demise of CM Chang of the Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party (NDPP) in 2020.

He filled a nomination to contest in the recently held state assembly election on a Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) ticket from the same constituency, however later withdraw his candidature.
