Tripura: Boxanagar MLA Samsul Haque, 69, dies of heart attack

Haque who was also a CPI (M) state committee member, was rushed to the hospital last night after he complained of chest pain

Tripura CPI (M) MLA from Boxanagar Assembly constituency, Samsul Haque, died early Wednesday morning following a cardiac arrest. He was 69. He passed away at the GBP hospital, Agartala.

He was admitted to the hospital last night after he had complained of chest pain.

The Left party leader’s body was taken to the Assembly and the CPI (M) party office where MLAs and his party colleagues paid their last respect to the departed leader.

Tripura Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha who is on an official tour to North Tripura also expressed his condolences through a Facebook post.

All state government programmes scheduled for today have been cancelled as a mark of respect to the departed leader who was also a CPI (M) state committee member.
