In a shocking incident, a man was stabbed multiple times by his employer after he discovered that his employee was having an illicit affair with his wife.
The victim, who received multiple stab injuries in his body, was admitted to the GB hospital in Agartala on Sunday, said police.
He was referred from the Ranirbazaar primary health center (PHC) for better treatment to the chief referral hospital in the capital as his condition was said to be critical.
According to the victim, Biswajit Mandal, he was stabbed by Manju Ghosh, his employer, as he recently discovered him having an illicit relationship with his wife.
Reportedly, Ghosh had intoxicated Biswajit, a regular drinker, and tried to stab him with a sharp weapon.
The sub-inspector of the Rani Bazaar police station, Pradip Tripura, who had accompanied and admitted the victim, speaking to reporters, said that he was in the Ranir Bazaar PHC, where the public had admitted him, and from there, the doctor referred him to the GB hospital as his condition was critical.
The police official said that the victim’s name is Biswajit Mandal, he is a resident of Teliamura (in Khowai district), and he used to stay at Amtali.
In the meantime, police have registered a case and are investigating the incident, as there has been an increase in similar incidents of illicit relationships in the state.
