Illegal immigration, human trafficking racket busted in Tripura, 9 held: Police

4 Bangladeshi Nationals, 1 Indian tout and 4 fraudsters who are providing them fake Aadhaar cards etc. have been arrested.
In a major crackdown on illegal immigration and human trafficking, the Tripura police arrested 5 persons including 4 Bangladeshi nationals on Thursday.
“Based on specific information against the rackets run to facilitate the illegal immigrants and human traffickers, police busted a big racket today”, a Tripura Police tweet said.
“In this major drive 4 Bangladeshi Nationals, 1 Indian tout and 4 fraudsters who are providing them fake Aadhaar cards etc. have been arrested”, the tweet read.
Earlier on August, at least seven suspected Bangladeshi nationals were apprehended in Dharmanagar under North Tripura District for illegally entering India.
The group included two men, two women, and three children, who had been residing in Bangalore for an extended period since illegally entering India for work purposes in 2020.
They were apprehended when they arrived at Dharmanagar Railway Station by the Ham Safar Express upon their return journey to Bangladesh.
