Bad news for late-night partygoers in Sikkim. All clubs, pubs, and discos in the state will shut their doors by 11 PM from tomorrow.

Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang in a bold move to enforce stricter nightlife regulations announced this during the State Level Gurung Tamu-Lochar Celebration at Parakha, Pakyong district today.

Any of these places that stay open beyond this curfew could face an immediate and permanent license revocation, said CM Tamang.

The Chief Minister acknowledged the influence of Western culture but stressed the importance of preserving and respecting local traditions.

“While it is good to adopt certain aspects of Western culture, it should not come at the cost of our own cultural values,” he said.

He further said, this is for the safety of our people.

Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang has issued a stern warning to the local police as well.

He said that if any violations occur under a specific police jurisdiction, the officer in charge will face immediate termination.

Furthermore, he directed the police to conduct thorough investigations into the matter, ensuring strict compliance with the new guidelines.
