Keeping with their commitment to ensure women's empowerment the party nominated Salhoutuonuo Kruse for the 8th Western Angami seat
Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio on Thursday urged NDPP candidates and workers to work harder and work better this time. The CM admitted that the performance of the Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party (NDPP) was lesser than that of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in terms of percentage of the seat-sharing ratio during the 2018 general election letting the BJP have the bigger say considering the BJP’s leadership at the Centre.
Rio launched the campaign kick-off programme for NDPP candidate Salhoutuonuo Kruse in Nagaland’s 8th Western Assembly Constituency at Khonoma Community Hall in Terhotsiese and was speaking at the programme.
Keeping with their commitment to provide equal opportunity and promote the message of women’s empowerment and gender equality, the party nominated Salhoutuonuo Kruse for the 8th Western Angami Assembly Constituency (AC) and Hekani Jakhalu for the 3 Dimapur-III AC.
Recalling that the first woman Member of Parliament (MP) Lok Sabha for the state, Rano Shaiza, was from Khonoma, CM Rio challenged the people to repeat history this time for the upcoming Nagaland Legislative Assembly elections and exhorted the party workers of the Western Angami Assembly Constituency that privilege comes with responsibility in the epoch-making.
He maintained that in the forthcoming 14th Nagaland legislative Assembly general election, the NDPP party should create history to encourage and motivate women from all walks of life, adding that there are too many things that are impending that also need women’s participation.
Neiphiu Rio called for the collective effort of all party workers to keep their guard strong at all times until the last fight.
NDPP candidate Salhoutuonuo Kruse shared her vision for equal infrastructural development and representation of urban and rural areas, youth and women empowerment, skill development, and employment, to improve the quality of life for the people by enhancing good governance, peace, and security, and to create a model constituency.
She appreciated the Chief Minister, Neiphiu Rio, and the NDPP party for the stress on women’s empowerment and is showing that she works towards its fulfillment.
