Nagaland Jail Break: 9 Inmates Escape from Mon Jail

Nagaland: Prisoners escape in the wee hours this morning. Nagaland Police on alert. Massive search ops launched to track prisoners.

In a major incident of jail break in Mon, Nagaland, nine inmates – 7 under trial prisoners and 2 convicted prisoners escaped from the Mon District Jail. They are said to have escaped at around 1:00 am in the early morning of Saturday. They fled by breaking the main door of the jail.

The police have deployed a search party to track down the inmates.

The 2 convicted prisoners have been identifies as Pongpha Konyak and Ampung konyak. The 7 under trial prisoners are – Taonyei Konyak, Manpha Konyak, Tamwang konyak, Taoyan Konyak, Tahyao Konyak, Bongzei Konyak and Yeanghat.
