Adviser to Nagaland CM Abu Metha meets Music maestro AR Rahman, discusses future of Nagaland’s music industry

AR Rahman is mentoring the Sunshine Orchestra of Nagaland
Advisor to Nagaland chief minister Neiphiu Rio met Music maestro AR Rahman in Chennai on Friday and discussed the roadmap to further enhance the Nagaland music industry. They discussed strategies to strengthen collaborations and partnerships between the maestro and Nagaland singers and musicians and music composers.
Abu Metha was accompanied by chairman of TaFMA, Theja Meru.
“Honoured to meet music maestro Dr. A. R. Rahman along with TAFMA Chairman Mr. Theja Meru. I am always grateful to Dr. Rahman for the guidance and support he provided to the music fraternity of Nagaland and the North East. He is mentoring the Sunshine Orchestra of Nagaland, and through his platforms and initiatives, our musicians and young talents are getting fantastic opportunities and international platforms, making dreams and aspirations come true.” Abu Metha tweeted.
“We discussed several roadmaps and ideas to further enhance the music industry and strengthen collaborations and partnerships. His insights and inputs are not only eye-opening but also inspirational. His concern to contribute and help is commendable. I am grateful to @arrahman for his contributions and nation-building initiatives. We continue to strive for Nagaland to become a State of Excellence,” Abu Metha further wrote in his tweet.
AR Rahman is mentoring the Sunshine Orchestra of Nagaland.
Rahman is also engaged in mentoring and producing audio-video promotional productions that promote Nagaland and its musicians.
AR Rahman after his visit to the famous hornbill festival in Nagaland in 2019 had initiated a programme to mentor the musicians from the Kohima Orphanage and Destitute Home, bringing them under his renowned Sunshine Orchestra.
Rahman, earlier this year took the children to Chennai to perform at an international concert in collaboration with the British Council.
