The Mizoram Chief Minister also expressed his solidarity with those who have been affected by the unabated violence

As peace continues to elude Manipur, Mizoram Chief Minister Zoramthanga has once again expressed his utter concern over the prevailing situation.

Dismayed over what is happening in the conflict ridden state, Zoramthanga in a tweet said,”The onset of May witnessed a brutal, untoward and uncalled-for incident in Manipur. At this very moment, 3:30am, July the 4th, 2023; nothing seems to have changed. We are counting, and today is the 62nd day.”

Zoramthanga also expressed his solidarity to those who have been left shattered by the turmoil that began since May 3.

In the tweet he said,”While we hope with much goodwill, anticipation and hope, things would turn for the better, situations seem to have worsened. When will it STOP? I condole my Manipuri Zo Ethnic brethen, my incessant prayers for those who have lost their loved ones, their homes and families wrecked in shatters. May the gracious Lord give you the strength and the wisdom to navigate through this disastrous incident.”

In the emotional note, Zoramthanga called for immediate restoration of peace and tranquility. He also raised the issue of safety and security of the Zo ethnic tribes in Manipur. Without naming anyone, the Mizoram Chief Minister said that it is imperative upon the law abiding citizens or entities of the nation to look for immediate ways for restoration of peace and normalcy.
Chief Minister Zoramthanga has also once again reached out to the Centre for its assistance on humanitarian ground for the Internally Displaced People of Manipur taking shelter in Mizoram. He said that the number of Manipur IDPs in Mizoram has mounted to 12000 so far.
