Mizoram: Mizo Pop Sensation Feli Fanai Dies at 33

Feli Fanai’s funeral will be held at her home in Champhai Venglai at 12 PM today.

Feli Fanai, the renowned Mizo pop artist, passed away this morning at 2:15 am. She was 33.

The 33-year-old singer had been admitted to the hospital on 20 December 2024, due to health complications and exhaustion, which led to a rapid decline in her condition. She was later transferred to the ICU for intensive care but tragically succumbed to her illness.

She leaves behind her two sons, and her parents, two brothers, and one sister.

Feli Fanai’s funeral will be held at her home in Champhai Venglai at 12 PM today.

Her untimely demise has left a deep void in the hearts of her fans and the music fraternity.

Born on September 8, 1991, Feli Fanai was not only known for her mesmerizing voice but also for her captivating stage presence.

Her career took off with the release of her debut music video in 2013, and she soon became a household name in Mizoram’s music scene.

One of her most popular songs, “Lengdang tang a bel,” has amassed over 3 million views on YouTube, solidifying her status as a pioneer of Mizo pop music.

Feli’s immense talent and contribution to the industry earned her several prestigious awards, including the Vulmawi Award, Thazual Award, Lelte Award, and Moonlight Award.

She was recognized as the Iconic Artist of the Year in 2019 and won the People’s Choice Award: Zo Community in 2020.

Additionally, she was inducted into the Heritage Hall of Fame in 2019 as a Heritage Diva.
