Decorating and leaving flowers on the graves of loved ones is a special practice during Christmas season in Mizoram
It is Christmas and every part of Northeast is all geared up to celebrate, and soak in the spirit of the joys of giving and sharing. There are a lot of unique Christmas traditions that are followed across the globe.
Mizoram too has one such tradition — decorating graveyards in a meaningful way and showing love and respect and remembering the loved ones who have passed away.
Leaving a simple bouquet of flowers at their gravesite can be overwhelming for many but it definitely is a gesture that would leave one feeling happy and calm.
Christmas is all about spending time with the family and loved ones. It is all about loving, giving and sharing and spreading joy. Decorating the graves during this festive season may help those who have lost their loved ones grieve positively, giving those who have passed on a chance to participate in the spirit of the season, too.
