Huge Consignment Of Drugs Seized In Mizoram, Myanmar National Arrested

The Myanmar national has been identified as Ni Dun Lian (41), a resident of Ngailan Village, Myanmar.
The Mizoram Police has seized 592 grams of heroin worth Rs 17.76 lakh and arrested a Myanmar national in the Saitual district.
The seizure occurred on Saturday (September 13) during a routine check conducted by a team from the Saitual Police Station at Keifang Dawrkawn.
As per inputs, Saitual Police team while conducting random checking at Keifang Dawrkawn halted a public carrier vehicle that was plying from Champhai towards Aizawl.
Upon checking the vehicle, they recovered and seized around 592.57 grams (50 Soap Cases) of suspected heroin with an estimated value of Rs. 17,76,000 from the possession of Myanmar national.
The Myanmar national has been identified as Ni Dun Lian (41), a resident of Ngailan Village, Myanmar. He was one of the passengers of the sumo vehicle.
Following the seizure, a case was registered under section 21(C) of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (ND&PS) Act, along with Section 14 of the Foreigner Act.
The further investigation is underway to trace the backward and forward linkages associated with the smuggling network.
