Mizoram welcomes Prez Droupadi Murmu

President Droupadi Murmu on a crucial 2-day visit to Mizoram. Prez Murmu welcomed by Guv Haribabu Kambhampati, CM Zoramthanga.

President Droupadi Murmu has arrived in Mizoram on a 2-day visit to the state. After landing at the Lengpui Airport, President Smt Murmu was accorded a warm reception by Governor Dr. Hari Babu Kambhampati, Chief Minister Zoramthanga and top officials of the state government.

The President was accorded a guard of honour on her first visit to Mizoram.

Soon after her arrival, President Droupadi Murmu graced the 17th Convocation of Mizoram University at the Convocation Hall of MZU at Tanhril in Aizawl.

Mizoram Governor Dr. Haribabu Kambhampati and Chief Minister Zoramthanga also accompanied the President at the Convocation.

In her speech at the Mizoram University Convocation, the President lauded the students for their achievements in respective disciplines. President Droupadi Murmu said that Mizoram University has emerged as one of the best educational institutes in the Northeast in terms of providing quality education.

Besides, President Murmu stated that development infrastructure of Mizoram University within a short span of time is commendable. Meanwhile, President Murmu also urged all educational institutes to adopt eco-friendly measures and sansitize students towards the environment, similar to the Mizoram University.

The President also urged the Mizoram University authorities to tap the potential and make the institue as a Centre of Excellence in terms of spreading knowledge. President Droupadi Murmu also appreciated the Mizoram University’s model of collaborating with national and international organisations in creating new oppurtunities.
